Solid State Drives (SSDs)

Make your mac a lot faster without spending a fortune? And I’m not talking about something you’d barely notice... It’s like spending £2000 on a brand new Mac... for less than £150+VAT!

Depending on the way that it’s done - it can be replacing an existing drive, or it can be adding one in, yes, even in an iMac or Macbook - the total cost will vary. Personally, I think that the most cost effective way is to replace the DVD drive and put an SSD in the vacant bay in older Macs.

It is important to understand that not all SSDs are created equal and some will degrade over time. Some work better than others with Macs and there is something called Garbage Collection and TRIM to be concerned with.
